I’m writing this DPA Weekly while in the midst of a cross-country drive, reflecting on the direction I want to take these weekly writings.

In the last month, I have dedicated myself to leading growth in a handful of automotive aftermarket businesses, removing myself from all other client relationships and ceasing new client business development. I am putting into practice all of the tips and tricks I’ve shared on this forum over the last year.

My subscriber base has not grown as I expected, based on the fantastic reception my articles from magazine publishers. Despite publications in four different magazines across the US and UK consistently over the past year, I have received no more than 10 organic subscribers.

Therefore, I am led to believe that my articles in their current form are not something that generates a reaction from shop owners in the form of “yes, I can benefit from more of this.” As a result, I think it’s time for a change.

My passion for cars is famous among people who know me personally. I strongly believe in and support quality driving, traffic law reform, effective enforcement, enjoyment of cars, enthusiast communities, and the freedom to access and participate in motorsport and automotive expression. The car is an incredibly useful tool, a source of massive joy, and a creator of freedom, if we continue to work on making it so.

One example of this passion for cars: my love of the Cross-Country Drive.

Car full of stuff, a destination in mind, and a long way to travel. The US is a big place, with hundreds of different landscapes, roads, restaurants, communities, landmarks, and historical places to take in and experience. The best way, in my opinion, to get that experience is by car. In sharing my views on cross-country drives on my Instagram, I generated a positive response from a few people, relating their own cross-country drive stories and memories.

In the last 4 days, I have visited 10 states, seen hundreds of different landscapes, and explored parts of the country that would take me a long time to get to, even by plane. The car has given me total autonomy and control to do that. The car has been comfortable, with plenty of legroom, space for snacks next to me, and Bluetooth for phone calls. I can stop whenever and wherever I want to get a breath of fresh air, strike up a conversation, or take a picture.

No other mode of transportation gives you that freedom. I love that freedom. Everyone else I know who has had the experience of a cross-country drive can relate to that freedom.

As someone involved in automotive businesses, I want to enable people to have that experience of freedom and exploration. Whether I’m selling you the right car for the job, protecting your investment for the work it’s going to put in, or upgrading the drivetrain or aesthetics to help you better enjoy the journey, I am here to support you in your car-related activities.

I love cars, and I love sharing that passion with everyone who wants to hear it.
